Meandering Down A Path

Leaf covered paths.

Blown free by fortuitous northerly winds.

Worn tracks,

From trekkers past revealed.

Nomadic herds searching.

What they look for,

They don’t know.

I meander,

Aimlessly searching.

I’ve lost much,

Gained more than I will know.

Maybe as an old man,

I’ll realize.

Memories of days past.

I walk to escape.

Or maybe find new remembrances.

I follow the tree-lined path.

Adventure awaits.

My history, left behind.
