Somethings Remain

Rain drops splatter.

Overcast light cascades through droplets.

Windows, rattle with the sound of weather.

Children play in front of the fire.

Mom on the couch,

Book in hand.

Dad in the recliner,

Reading digital subscription.

A generation ago,

Dad smoked a pipe.

Mom in the kitchen.

Times change.

People change.

Family, remains.
