Poetry Of Parenting

Sunny day,

I wish I could sweep the diapers away.

Curious, about many things.

Like little monkeys looking for a yellow hat.

Toy cars and teddy bears.

Little ones want everyone to be their neighbor.

Sunny day,

even when it rains,

we go out to play.

Teethers, wipes, and onesies.

Vocabulary never thought of,

in my bachelor days.

Sunny day,

Children love to play.

Imagination, make believe.

What wonderful world will today bring?

A blanket for a cape.

A parent’s superhero in diapers.

Sunny day,

Time for big yellow birds,

Blue cookie-eating monsters,

wait, it’s a builder named Bob instead.

Sunny day,

another diaper to sweep away.
