Cityscapes

A jungle of windows,

lights, cars.

The subways run,

like snakes in the grass.

People, like animals,

fill the jungle with life.

The city is its own beast.

A giant whale,

the people like symbiotic life forms.

Sharing the air,

the energy.

Life is continuous,

never ending.

Colors abound,

fluorescent,

neon.

Electric city,

concrete, metal,

wire, all around.

Cars rushing,

like giant mosquitoes.

This way, that way,

one way only.

The city spills over with life.

Based on this poem, I am going to follow your posts. I crave the inclusion of city life into the poetry of nature. I’d like to add a pingback to a couple of my poems.
