Daily Prompt: The Natural World

The Daily Prompt states: Describe your first memorable experience exploring and spending time in nature. Were you in awe? Or were you not impressed? Would you rather spend time in the forest or the city?

The Natural World: A Poem

Canopies of trees,

fields of grass.

Animals, all shapes,

sizes, and species roam.

Orange, red, yellow, blue.

The natural world encompassed all.

Awe inspiring.

The city is unnatural, fabricated.

Nature is pure, original.

The world of nature is the beginning,

and the end.

In the natural world is where I want to be.

Subject To Change: A Poem

Subject to change,

everything is.

Plans, agendas,

an itinerary, all can be forgotten.

Time changes, things change, places change.

People, most importantly, are subject to change.

Nothing is truly certain.

Emotions change.

Situations change.

Most importantly,

people are subject to change.

I’ve changed.

I think you’ve changed.

Together, we are still the same.

Our relationship, always,

will be subject to change.

But together, we will stay the same.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us LONGEVITY.

Longevity: A Poem

Eternal life.

Unending dreams,

are actual reality.

Forever lasting.

What will I do?

I must be careful.

I will always be known,

always accountable.

Do I care?

What can be done to me?

Those who accuse,

will die.

I will still be.

Those who accuse,

will pursue.

Will eternal life be bliss?

Constantly running,

fearing, ever watchful.

Immortal I am,

I shall choose peace.

I will do right, as best I can.

I will help myself by helping others.

Mere mortals will come to need me.

For eternity is better lived in peace.

Immortal I am,

everlasting peace I aim to achieve.

Child’s Laughter

A giggle.

A squeak.

Chuckling is quite right.

Joyous sounds.

Innocence abounds.

Child, parent,

laughter fills the air.

Toys bring smiles.

Smiles bring laughter.

A child’s laugh,

is the soundtrack of family.

Giggly, smiling,

child’s laughter fills the heart.

A giggle.

A squeak.

Child’s laughter is pure joy.

thankfully not.

Joy, yes.

Happiness, definitely.

Love, I hope so.

Adoration, mutual.

Inner peace.

Companionship found.

Friendship fostered.

Love blossomed.

Unending gratitude.

Unending love.

What escaped me,

is finally found.

No sympathy,

no sorrow.

Simply love.

Simply tears.
